Download Ibm Lotus Notes Client For Mac

IBM has published a new release of IBM Notes for Mac OS X. Legally it’s 9.0.1 – technically it’s 9.0.2.

With the upcoming (tomorrow) release of Mac OS X El Capital 10.11 IBM had to deliver an update to the IBM Notes Client so that it leverages Java 8 as runtime for the Eclipse based client.

If you take a look at the insights of the package you can see that the underlying codebase is already 9.0.2 – and not 9.0.1 as the package name says. So technically Mac users are now far ahead of Windows users as they’ll get 9.0.2 somewhat after IBM Connect in January. 😉

You can find the IBM announcement here. The download for Passport Advantage can be found with “IBM Notes V9.0.1 Mac 64 Bit English (CN6VDEN)”.

When Yosemite was released, Lotus Notes 9.0.1 stopped working. They released a patch that fixed the problem and the client is now working on one of my Macs.

However, if you already have Yosemite installed, and you want to install Lotus Notes from scratch, you get and error and the 'old' install file will not load at all. You can't load the patch if the main file won't load first.

IBM has said they have a 'Slipstream' file that contains the fix, but that file is not avail on the normal page. It says you have to be some kind of business partner to get it, which makes no sense since the patch was made widely avail.

However, I have download this application and it's really nice. IBM done a nice begin, the interface is clear and easy to use. I'm currently using Office For MAC 2008 and I can feel that this app seems to be better. I hope this App might bring IBM back to their position where they were standing with Lotus 1-2-3. ICAA stands for IBM Client Application Access. This is a standalone client, available for Mac and Windows, that is a stripped down version of the R9 Notes Basic client. It has been around for awhile, June of 2015 I believe is when it was first released, however it seems to have come in under the radar of most customers and business partners.

Does anyone have the .dmg file that you can use to install Lotus Notes Client for Mac directly onto a machine running Yosemite?
